remington R8065 Pushbutton knife

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington did not make the R8065, it was a contract knife made by Schrade if I'm not mistaken.
It was likely made in the 1930's. They aren't a common knife by any means, although one does show up on Ebay usually every few weeks. They are not legal to sell on Ebay and the listings are normally removed quickly. Book price for a truly mint condition R8065 is around $400, with any wear at all the price usually drops to half that amount. Remington also sold a R8063 handled in bone. They were a good quality knife, I've probably got 4 or 5 of them.
