Need Help On This One

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Does this look correct? Blade looks like SS, handles Delrin?. Tang stamp says 1924-33 base on AAPK Research. Could it be?

TJ,

That is not an original Remington from the time frame you mentioned.

It looks like something made later for them probably by Camillus. Someone who knows newer knives can probably fill you in on who made it for them and a date of manufacture.

Remington still has knives made for the by other companies and they use the old style tang stamps. The knife you pictured looks like it has a steel pin, so it could have been made in germany.

It's been awhile since this post but this knife was made by Camillus I believe in the early to mid 1980's. It was used as a giveaway when you bought a case of Remington 22 ammo. I've got several of them, without the ammo, but I've seen the un-opened ammo packs with the knife included. The last one I saw was about a year or so ago at Jim Sargent's shop. That is where I got the information about the knife.
