Re: Remington Photos
Harold, I have asked the seller to send specific pictures to me that will settle my questions. At first it looks like delrin but closer observation appears to be bone. Unsure... because the price tag is set high I need to see a lot more to say either way. At the moment it does not appear to be right.
David maybe I was a little to quick to speak...you appear to be showing the larger muskrat R4353 at 4 1/4" closed". Does yours have the stamp R4466 and is it 3 3/4" closed? if so my humble apologies and I bow and drool at the same time.

Re: Remington Photos
Rocky, thanks for being an extra set of eyes and ears
I tend to agree with the sentiments being expressed that the knife is questionable. I attached an edited and annotated picture that highlights my concerns.
Edit:
For comparison:
* added black & white "book" picture of original R4466
* added picture of modern reproduction R4466.

I agree with you. The dealer is out of my state and with a price tag near passing out I think it has too many wrongs to be right. If Dave has it right maybe he'd sell his to you! Can I get a HET?????

Re: Remington Photos
Of course, MrB is the HET master so I'll provide a small het so I don't overstep
Here is my R4353. The second picture shows the pattern number. Dave will need to confirm, but I believe Dave's knife is a very fine original R4353. My primary reasons for saying that is the smooth bolster (instead of grooved) and what looks like high quality Remington bone instead of stag.
The R4353 and R4466 do look very similar.

Thanks for the look see Jerry. I appreciate you sharing your info and pics. I too have the R4353 and agree with you in your previous statements and assessments.

I had just about quit collecting Remington's a few years ago, however, this year I've been having pretty good luck in picking up some affordable examples. Here they are:

Re: Remington Photos
Thanks MB, as you can see, they aren't perfect but I always get the feeling that somehow I'm preserving a little bit of history each time I take one out of circulation.
Re: Remington Photos
I got that add for $4. The problem isn't the add. It's getting everything together that's in the add. My next one. I have the scout knife, model 24. Need the model 12 and sheath knife.
Re: Remington Photos
I've posted this display a couple times. I keep moving different knives in and out but I think I finally have it to were I'll leave it be.
Re: Remington Photos
At those prices I will take all of them. Great display.

Re: Remington Photos
Howdy men!! Just a quick stop in to say that you fellers have been posting some very beautiful knives and displays that would be the envy of any true Remington collector. Took me me a little while to catch up but it was worth it. Life is different since my wife and I are caring for each of our parents. Priorities and responsibilities have shifted dramatically. You love and honor as the good book says and cherish those you love while they are with you. Life seems short these days and there is never enough time day to day. Never the less keep on keep in' on cause you never know who might be watching and benefiting from the joys you share! God bless, Rocky

Re: Remington Photos
I picked up a couple decent Remy's recently.First an R1163 English Jack it has seen some use but in excellent shape with good etch and ringed bolsters.

Re: Remington Photos
Next is an unused R1123.It has some spots on the blades but appears unsharpened. It is a little unusual as it is etched on the clip blade with the Master Knife etch.
