Case XX barlow ?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case XX barlow ?

Post by montemojo »

I've had this a while, and have been wondering if it is the Camillus contract knife that Pete Cohan was referring to on page 40 of James Parkers book : official price guide to collector knives eighth edition. The frame doesn't look like an XX era frame and the bolster is not stamped. Or, could someone have replaced the blade on another frame.

A contract knife, but Utica, not Camillus. Most of the barlows that Utica made on contract for Case had sawcut black composition handles and CASE XX upside down on the bolster.
