Case knife date stamp?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I believe the "Lightning SS" indicate Stainless Steel.

FYI, that shield was only used from 87' to 89'. Doesn't make it rare or more valuable. Just good info to know.

I just really thought the shield wad different, and did not have a knife with that shield on it, so I bought the knife.Besides, you can't go wrong buying a Case knife from the 80's for $40. This lady was selling her husbands collection at this show, and needless to say, her table was busy. I was in the right place at the right time.
