Another What Is It

Post by Paladin »

We have got some good stuff going on here lately.
I recently received an email inquiry from a man in Slovakia and he has asked questions about a Schlieper fixed blade in his possession. He was interested in any info I might give on his knife and he sent me photos which I now cannot find (go figure). I do have some good close-ups of the stamp on the ricasso and I suspect it is a legitimate Eye Brand. One of the words stamped is KOPASSUS and a search reveals that to be an acronym for a special forces unit of the Indonesian military. I do know Schlieper did some volume of business in that part of the world.
Any other thoughts out there? Age? Etc?
I'll post the ones I have and I have asked him to sent the others again so I'll post those when received.

Ray

EDIT: Here is a collage of the other photos. Ray

Now that's an interesting knife right there. I'd live to get my hands on one.

certainly appears as a contract knife. i do'nt recall seeing "ice tempered" on knives made before the 80s. HiPower

All I know is...I like it! Definitely haven't seen one like it! Thanks for showing it.

When the knife your grandfather/father carried or put up is handed down to you...treasure it...open it up from time to time...and by all means, keep it!
