Interesting Pattern by H. Konejung

Post by Another Knife Collector »

Recently picked this up, it's an unusual pattern, a four blade trapper I suppose, with a large clip, small clip, pen, and small hawkbill blade. It has horn handles. It is about 3 1/4 inches closed. Anyone know if such a pattern had a particular use? All blades are stamped H KONEJUNG SOLINGEN and their logo, a pair of eyeglasses. It is not stamped with the country of origin, and is a fairly good quality piece, which leads me to believe it was made before the 1890 tariff, or possibly not intended for export.

I can't believe that Germany actually contracted knives elsewhere back then....Solingen on the blade to me says made in Solingen, Germany. As for the rest of the story....I have no clue!
