Fan Brand Barlow

Post by keithw »

I just picked this one up. ::ds::
I've never seen a Fan Brand barlow pattern.
It has a sheepsfoot blade, steel liners, composite scales, no etch, half stop, and snap that would take off a finger.
I'm guessing it's from the 70s.
Sorry the pics are upside down.

Thanks

schliper family started an import agreement with cruse family in the 30s. until the late 80s or early 90s cruse had the exclusive import on all eye [schliper] brought into the u.s. these german knives were'nt the most flashy but were made for the using market. extremely good quality & had some of the best carbon steel ever used in america.at times schliper tried to get around the import agreement by using the fan marking.eyes had a large following in australia & south africa. fans were'nt always finished out as well as the mainstream brand but were still high performance folders.they wholesaled for considerable less than the main line. I like the fan brand knives. I actually am selling one on ebay now. Selling off most of my non bone/stag knives. Never seen one in a Barlow. I like it!
