Schrade Congress
Schrade Congress
Schrade collectors I have a question. Did Scrade Cutlery Co. ever produce a congress pattern knife ?

Re: Schrade Congress
I can't think of one off the top of my head, but I would imagine Schrade Cut Co likely did, I am just not familiar enough with all their patterns to say yea or nay.

Schrade Walden made the smaller versions later on. A 974 and 774.

Boy those are nice - Phil, you've got some pursuing to do!
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Sorry for the 3 month "late" response to your Schrade Congress question Phil.philco wrote:Schrade collectors I have a question. Did Scrade Cutlery Co. ever produce a congress pattern knife ?
If you still have an interest, I hope this helps.
The below pics are all of the Schrade Cutlery Co. Congress pattern knives listed in their 1926 catalog to include the supplements for: 1928-30-32-34-36-38.
I have the 1971 A.G. Russell reprint of the 1926 catalog.
I included the entire page that listed all the Congress patterns throughout the 108 page catalog.

I've always liked the appearance of Keen Kutters logo as a shield.Unk wrote:Here's a Keen Kutter model K7 made by Schrade.

I read somewhere that Keen Kutters trademark shield is supposed to represent the tooth of a saw blade cutting through a board.Old Folder wrote:I've always liked the appearance of Keen Kutters logo as a shield.Unk wrote:Here's a Keen Kutter model K7 made by Schrade.

Would the 44ot be considered a congress pattern?...always wondered about that.

Re: Schrade Congress
I would think not since it does not have the typical half moon shape handle of a congress. But that's just my personal assumption.dweb1897 wrote:Would the 44ot be considered a congress pattern?...always wondered about that.

Some great knives shown here. These are my SW 773 and 774. The 773 was difficult to find in unused condition. The 774 is the same knife pictured in Sargents book. It came from the factory collection.
