My small Camillus collection... 710, 886, 6, 26

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

My small Camillus collection... 710, 886, 6, 26

Post by CheckSix »

I've had a two Camillus knives for many years and recently added 2 more...

The Peanut model 710 has traveled in my pocket for many miles and served me really well, when I need a small, discreet pocket knife. Next, I've had a model 26, two blade large hunter that has been my companion on many a hunting trip and did a great job field dressing big game animals. More recently, I found and bought a model 6, single blade Hunter that was new, unused but no box. I got it as a back up to the 26. Also recently, I found a new model 886 large Hunter Lock-back, that is master blade etched as North American Fishing Club charter member, which is related to a Rapala fishing club. Just couldn't pass it up.

Thanks for the Welcome!

Ya, the 26 has been a beast! Never thought to use it for filleting fish?!? Huh! I use my fish fillet knives. It HAS cleaned a truck load of deer though.

I bought it new back in '99 or 2000.... but don't know how long the store sat on it prior to me taking it home.
