Camillus Cartridge Collection

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Here is one I have, the C-3.
The cartridge is 30-06 Springfield.
The second blade is a gutting blade, used to cut up the hide of an animal without puncturing the organs, much like a gut hook is used.

I am not where this originated, though I expect someone here knows, but I first saw it on Puma knives back in the 1980s.

Oh, I forgot to show that the C-3 is also a double lockback.
Camillus C-3 c.jpg

I think this is the last of the Camillus Cartridge Series I have.
This is by far my favorite of all that I have seen of that series.
It is the .22 Long Rifle muskrat, the Rimfire Classic.

I guess it is my favorite in part because I must have sent about half a million .22 rounds down range when I was growing up.
I am also found of the muskrat pattern, so this knife is a win-win for me!

Dale and Gino, great looking knives. What a nice collection, Gino.
Dale, I also shot a ton of 22 as a kid. I loved every minute of it.

There is a 1993 Camillus .22 Long Rifle muskrat, the Rimfire Classic.
It was a trapper pattern. The price seems about right to me. ::shrug::

Tom Williams said:
"A model #CCC8 was planned for the Camillus Classic Cartridge Series, but never went into production. This knife would have been a single blade lock back (similar to a Remington model #R1253) with a 250 Savage cartridge shield."

And I tried to paint it

Thanks guys. Great info. I was completely ignorant. I just love the CCs. If I had ever seen one, I did not know it. I will be on the lookout and certainly an idea for a custom rebuild.

Interesting read Gentlemen! I like Remingtons a lot so there´s no wonder I fell for this Camillus CCC-4. What keeps me wondering is how could Camillus go out of business when the were shelling out such quality knives that late? ::hmm::
