Could anyone volunteer some info about the handle material on this knife? Looks like wood, and appears to be fashioned to appear like treebark....I've searched through as many of the posts in the Boker board here and can't find another one like it...

It's delrin.
Boker USA used this material from 1976-1983.
Solingen continued to use it up through the 1990s.
They call it "del-bone".

Here's another one:

Del-bone, I'm learning every day! Thanks for the info. I like the way it mimics tree bark on that knife, appropriate for the tree brand.

I was too lazy last night to post a pic, but here are mine from that era.
In the first pic, 3 out of 4 are Boker USA (1976-1983). The whittler is Solingen made (second from left, 1983-1986).
The knives in the second pic are Solingen made in 1994-1995. They came as a set to commemorate Boker Baumwerk (Solingen's) 125 year Anniversary. The material is also delrin, but the coloring is a little different, and they didn't grind the surfaces flat like Boker USA did. Gives it more of a stag appearance.
