I received the Nov issue of Knife World from MrBlister, but my Sweet Lady was cleaning up and thought it was old newspaper and threw it out. Did I say Sweet? oh yea she was cleaning up the rest of my messes, LOL.
Well I called Knife world and started a subscription and I requested they sent me a copy of Nov which has now arrived.
Im scanning it and posting it on my Hawke's Boker Notes page. Some scans are up now and more will follow until I get the whole article there.

thanks Hawke, great web page, the Zalsky article is new info for me
so from what I gather , the VF knives were the less expensive
when they moved to Maplewood in the early 20's they must have stopped using the Newark NJ stamp?
but knowing how allot of manufacturers didn't like to throw anything away, and did not care about exact records, I guess they may have used the Newark stamp in Maplewood for awhile?
here is another rough black Boker I have, think this one is from Maplewood? that factory stayed open till the 60's I think

The original post containing "Mark D. Zalesky's" article entitled "Boker Celebrates 140 Years" from Dec 12, 2009 posted by AAPK member "Hawke" no longer exists on AAPK. Hawke's last post was on May 22, 2015. His website: "Hawke's Boker Notes" is now a 404 error code. He has revised it a couple times, but Hawke and his website disappeared around three years ago.
I have the mentioned Knife World issue, Vol. 35 No.11 November 2009 containing the Boker article.
It is an excellent article not only for Boker collectors, but knife enthusiast in general and was well praised from aapk members that accessed it in the past while it was still available.

Mr. Zalesky's Boker Tang Stamps on the final page seems to be one of the best, if not "the best" Boker Tang Stamp Reference guides available. I have personally referred to it many times over the years.
I shall "Repost" the 10 page article in its entirety below.

My digital picture quality may not be as visually stunning compared to a website designed production, but the Knife World Magazine's pages exceed the width of my flat-bed scanner. "Mark D. Zalesky" who wrote the below article is still the Editor & Publisher of Knife World, now called "Knife Magazine" and has been editing and publishing the finest Knife related magazine in existence.
