Im Happy with GEC

Post by bonehead »

Guys,
For new knives, I really like GEC. I like what they stand for in offering traditional pocket knives. I also like the fact they are a small company and not interested in being the biggest dog in town. I think this lends to the quality they have, yes there will be some exceptions but for the most part I have found them quite consistent, I like that.

As they they have made their way into the 7th full year of production I hope they are around for a long time, When I buy GEC I enjoy the full experience of the knife, service, commitment, dealers, and who they are. I also hope they remain a small company....

I wanted to post on this because I buy plenty of new knives and have not found IMO any other company more consistent than they are.

Earl, Yes there is always room for improvement. I know exactly what you are saying, I often look at the northfields and at a distance they look really nice. Hold them at a slight angle and there are those disturbing to me little swirl marks that could be taken care of with just a little more effort. Look at the finish of my tidioute whaler that MM did for me.... a different world. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... it=+whaler

I think I am happy with GEC.

However, in order to make absolutely sure I should probably pick up one or two more …
