What is the difference (except for the dates on the tang) between the 2007 bocote & the 2011 bocote muskrat? Was it just popular enough to warrant another production run?

At first I thought it was the quality of Bocote used since the 2011 original was listed simple as Bocote and not the Exotic Bocote like the 2007 ....but now the only noticeable different is the blade etch size between the two.....still need both....here's the 2007

Re: 53 Muskrat fans?
This Antique Green Bone Improved Muskrat was actually my very first GEC … this is the knife that started my GEC infatuation …
… I popped it out of the tube, and the heft, scale, and build quality just blew me away … I literally laughed out loud ...
I have since snagged Bocote, Genuine Stag, and Snakewood #53 Muskrats … but I don't have pics of any of 'em !

Re: 53 Muskrat fans?
Here's my quandary. Two #53's in Ram's Horn from 2007. One is serialized (#06 on bottom) and one is unserialized (on top). GEC website lists 46 pieces produced in 2007, but no mention of any unserialized. Anybody have any info? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Re: 53 Muskrat fans?
Very cool! if you can't find something and you don't get an answer elsewhere you could always send an email in to GEC and see if they can tell ya?brentlee2003 wrote:Here's my quandary. Re: 53 Muskrat fans?
It seems to me, that the first few years of bookkeeping of the production totals, are a little less meticulous on the serialized/unserialized counts, than later production lists are.
