Skipper, the time lag to Europe would drive me nuts. The waiting here in the States is bad enough. ::pace::

Is this your first GEC or do you have others?

Strangely enough some shipments are here in just 10 days or so, other took as much as seven (7) weeks to get here! Well, USPS only seems to be in two modes: Asleep or going postal!

A problem much worse is that I can´t get some handle materials past german customs. Fossil ivory or MOP, even some woods are a no-go for me - too bad.... ::shrug::

In fact I have several GEC knives already and to my personal taste the make the finest pocket knives in the USA. ::tu:: I believe that you would have to buy a custom knife (and I did that) to get an even better fit and finish. I would easily prefer GEC over any other brand these days. ::nod::

Love the GEC's, and have quite a few....if only they would loosen them up a little.
I have a few that are virtually impossible to open with my thumb nail, and i need to use an opener.

PS: The new #77's are an awesome knife. I particularly like the 2ot clone.

Monk, when all is said and done, you just can't beat a jack knife. That 78 is a real beauty. Good choice.
