Corvus,

Interested in the black patina / coating on the blades of the #26 and #72 in this picture ...

Also, do they all have brass (or electroplated) bolsters?

Did I miss a sprint run ... ?!

Those are some sweet EDCs! ::tu::

Edge, I'm pretty sure those have a hot vinegar patina. Rick can elaborate further.

Hey Edge. Trand is correct; the blades have a forced patina using hot cider vinegar. I've detailed the procedure here, if you're interested: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showt ... der+patina

The bolsters are plain ol' nickel silver, though GEC did do a run of #23s (or was it #73s? - I forget) in brass. The color in the photo got a little screwed up, probably due to an overcast day.

A poorly worded and photographed ebay listing yielded this very lightly used beauty at a bargain price! :D

Great looking #73 Christian!!

I picked up a second #33 with Tortoise Shell acrylic to be a user. The patina's already started but here's a pic from when I first got it.

That's a sweet little tortie, Trand!

::tu::

I like the way the conductor looks in that material - it suits it well ... I picked one up some time back, and just been holdin it - maybe she should get some pocket time ...

Here is my Big Jack EDC, carrying for about 8 months now. I just put a forced patina on her and I must say...I am in love all over again. I almost hated the carbon steel because of maintenance. The forced patina WILL NOT RUST. It looks like the flange area on a Harley, after its been heated and cooled...about 10 different colors in the sun. Black as night in normal light and inside.

50/50 lemon juice and water over night. DO NOT SUBMERGE YOUR KNIFE. It will ruin handles made of natural materials (stag, wood, none etc).

The back springs are solid black just from everyday use. I think its a great way to stop worrying about staining your EDC. Its not reversible unless you re-polish so think ling and hard. Thanks for looking! See yall on the Grid iron in a few weeks
