Vikingdog - what model is the white bone wharnie? I can't place it. Great looking knife, I am going to have to see if there are any more of those out there.vikingdog wrote:Do you have some GEC's in your EDC rotation? I've been carrying the little white bone wharnie for over a month and it's the nicest knife I've ever handled. It's perfect in the hand and in the pocket. It's just got a great feel to it. I haven't got around to the other two yet.
Thanks,
David

Yes!
I like 73/72's for my extended fly-fishing/camping/backpacking knives. I like the single-blade 48's for my backyard/day-hikes/outdoor food knives. A White Owl has recently replaced my usual 3 1/2" office, urban, custom knife. There is at least one more White Owl in my future.

Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
This is my EDC GEC that Gino gave me.
The spring on the GEC is so stiff that it hurts my thumb to open it, so I switched to the Canal Street because it has a much lighter spring in it.
I will switch back to the GEC as soon as my thumb quits hurting so bad.
I carry it everyday, except today I had to switch to my Canal Street AAPK pinch lock because I shut my thumb in the door of my Expedition. The spring on the GEC is so stiff that it hurts my thumb to open it, so I switched to the Canal Street because it has a much lighter spring in it.
I will switch back to the GEC as soon as my thumb quits hurting so bad.

Thank you Dale. It took awhile before I decided to put it to use but I'm glad I did. It makes me feel good every time I use it.

I don't know about EDC, but this one was in my pocket two of the last three days.

Doug.....That is KILLER!
The clips on this last run are extra nice with the LongPull.
The 2 Coco's that I grabbed have perfect lock-up and smooth release.

Thanks for the kind words. The sunlight washed out the shiny parts, but I wanted to get a close-up of the grain. I am a sucker for cocobolo, all three of my pistols have cocobolo grips.

These are my current GEC EDC knives.

Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
Hi Guys- First post. Thought I'd do it here as this is where I first came across GEC knives. I EDC al of mine, I own 7-8 since I got started a few months back. I love the quality of these knives, love that they're made in Pennsylvania, and can't imagine not carrying them. I have a lot of customs that are safe queens, these get fondled everyday- including my Whaler!
Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
Roses, those are some nice lookin knives. Got to love those larger patterns

Welcome to AAPK. Are you in Pennsylvania? If you are GEC has a Rendezvous in July that is worth going to.

Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
Viking - no, unfortunately, I don't. My family is all from Western PA though, and I have a soft spot in my heart for it. I am headed that way in April, and hope that I can get a glimpse of the factory when I'm there.
Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
It's a nice place. It's set up so you can walk around on the second level and see the work floor and various work rooms through glass walls. There are cases filled with examples of all the knives they've produced. There's a salesroom there too.
