On pages 8 and 9 (maybe 10 or 11) Trevor showed this 85:
Image

I do not know why he felt I should have it but from the bottom of my heart I say THANK YOU!

I got this 72 Scout in a trade for a Case Yellow Trapper CV and we each think we got the better deal!

The 85 is now a right front pocket staple. The 72 doesn't get carried all that much.

I have a question for the GEC knowitalls.... Did they do or will they do any Ebony 76?
I might have to settle for Chestnut Jigged Bone, but I think Ebony would be it!

Yeah, I saw that at Collectorsknives.net

It IS black....

But I think the subdued black of Ebony is what is called for.

But who am I kidding? With my job being what it is probably no buy it myself GEC in the works.

Oddly enough I have this 73 in my left pocket. While only 3.75" long it packs a lot of blade and is substantial all around!

I think it's cool that Stone Cold does your light work, Dave!

That 73 does pack a lot of blade in a solid frame, easily one of my favorite GEC patterns. She looks good with some use on her too.

Lately, I've been carryin a Spring Green Courthouse Whittler just like this one (2nd from right), along with one of my Spydercos …

… of course my carry one ain't quite that purty anymore! ::smirk::

Toted this one today. Cut open a grapefruit with it and wasn't quite pleased. Trying vinegar just now.

GEC question:

The new Boys Knife, the Collector Knives site says 3.5" But the GEC release says 3"

What is the truth? See I could get one of those in Ebony with no blade etch. At 3.5 that would be the Cats Meow!

I called GEC yesterday with that very same question. The lady that answered the phone (Chirstine Tucker??) said she happened to have one laying on her desk and she measured it. She said, "it's just shy of 3-1/2"", which is what everyone else has been saying right along.

There's been a lot of confusion surrounding this knife. Personally I think it's because they're simultaneously bringing out two patterns with the same pattern number. Both are made on the same frame and they are running them through production in parallel. They are also releasing both at the same time. That along with one of the patterns is Charlies SFO (Barlow) and the other is GEC's pattern (Boy's Knife). On top of that, there was a mistake in the Art Dept. concerning the closed length. I bet they'll be glad to move on to the Buckaroo.
