What do you guys use for the round pin or spring? inside a Buck 110 lockback, a Schrade 6OT, and similiar knives? I've got about a dozen to fix that need new ones. I hope this is clear enough, I don't know the proper term, but is is the short round or flat pin that makes the lockback spring back into position.

Thanks

I got lengths of round tempered steel pin that work great. it can be had in a few different diameters. PM me and we'll work something out.

You can use music wire for this, you can get it from a local ACE hardware store or Amazon.com has it in about any size.

KnifeKits.com has 12" lengths of spring steel bar, almost like wire that is flattened on two opposite sides, but still rounded on two sides.

When I first started replacing lockback springs I took apart a spring clamp with the wire coil spring in the middle.
The straight pieces on each end are long enough to replace the spring in a Buck 110 or a LB-7.

I bought some of that flat stuff and it works, but you have to shape it to fit properly. The music wire works much nicer and you don't have to shape it. The music wire is inexpensive and they have it at larger local Ace hardware stores.
