Unless a surprise shows up in today's mail, it looks like all the money is now in for the drawing. Bryan will be drawing the two winning numbers tomorrow and posting them here on this thread.

I want to thank everyone who participated in this drawing now before the numbers are selected. In my book, every one of you folks are WINNERS because you have big hearts. I'm proud to be a part of this online community. There are good people here. ::handshake::

Thanks again everyone, and especially thank you Mike Latham for your generosity.

Hi Everyone.

Looks like I get to draw the winning numbers :D

If anyone wants to PM a bribe offer, you better act quickly! HaHa... Just kidding!!!

What I'm going to do is visit the following website…
http://www.random.org/

I'll enter the range 1 – 64 & proceed to click the "Generate" button. The number that comes up immediately after that first click will be for the D’Holder. I'll write the number down & proceed to click the "Generate" button exactly one more time. The number that comes up immediately after that click will be for the Congress. I’ll write that number down & return here with the results.

I'll post them & send emails to the winner to get their shipping address which I will forward to the individuals who will be shipping the knife to the winner.

Sound fair ::shrug:: Hope so... ::tu::

Good luck to everyone!

OK...

I have the results, but before I post them, I want to express thanks to everyone who participated. Special thanks to Mike for donating the beautiful CS D’Holder & special thanks to Phil for donating the fabulous CS Congress.

We will get Tank’s money sent off as soon as humanly possible & we will get the AAPK account funded shortly after.

The AAPK funds are expected to be used to cover a few months worth of our dedicated server cost and/or to help with another upgrade to our backup system. We currently have a second (off-site) location where all files are compressed & stored every so often. I also have a computer at my house where I download as much as possible as often as possible.

As the site grows, the file sizes grow & this process becomes less & less efficient. I’m looking at turning a home PC into a “Linux” box that I can use to automate daily transfers to have a mirror site here at home.

That would really cover our butts! The last crash we had really scared me & I found out exactly how dependent we are on the company that houses our server. If something fails them & if something fails to compress completely & 100% efficiently or decompress completely & 100% efficiently, we could be in really bad shape. I did take some measures to improve things after last crash, but it could & will soon be better.

I know all that sounds boring, but I just kinda wanted anyone who might be interested to know a bit about how we will benefit from this…

So… Without further adu, the numbers are as follows… (Please see next post)…

25 & 21.

#25 wins the D'Holder & #21 wins the congress.

I haven't looked to see who won yet to ensure that I stay unbiased, but I'll get the winners an email sent off right away. Congratulations ::tu::

Congratulations to our two winners. I'll be putting Trenton's Canal Street congress knife in the mail tomorrow.

For those of you who may be wondering who Trenton is, here's a link to the thread where he was introduced to the AAPK membership recently.
