Bolo

Post by Riley »

My neighbor gave me a military Bolo the tang has a stamp S A 1912 withe torch. U S 15108. The sheath is marked Brauer Bros. 1917. The wooden handles are gone on the Bolo I was wondering about the chance of obtaining some replacements and if I fabricated some would it devalue the piece? He also gave me a Corpsmans knife and sheath in great shape.

Riley, The SA is Springfield Armory, the maker, and the flaming bomb is the US Ordinance mark. If you could find some original handles, it would certainly increase the value of the bolo. These knives were made by three different companies, that I know of.
Life would be meaningless if we couldn't wish for anything.

I'am not a collector of military knives. If any of you who are and are interested in these. I'm open to some old fashioned trading!
