L.F.&C. Mess Knives
L.F.&C. Mess Knives
Found these pictures on the net, attributed to Larry D. Johnson of New Ulm MN under the creative commons license (free for non-commercial use). These look to be pretty substantial and well built. Anyway, I'm impressed.

Re: L.F.&C. Mess Knives
These were included in a mess kit, they are light and durable, some of them have Bakelite handles instead of Aluminum

Re: L.F.&C. Mess Knives
Our mess kits were left-overs from WWII and Korea. These knives were one of the utensils that were (was?) included. I don't remember if they were marked US or USMC (been tooooo long ago, besides at that time in my life I had no interest in markings). They got the food from the pan to our mouth. That's all we cared about.
