Anyone have ideas. All are welcome. No markings what so ever. Unique sheath.

Moss,

I don`t have any idea.

But, I must say that is the ugliest knife I have seen in quite awhile ::nod::

gringo: I will add the back of blade tomorrow, I have just given up on artificial light.
Demitri: I prefer foreboding rather than ugly, I guess after standing back and looking at it for awhile I would not want to run across it in a dark alley unless I was better heeled. Maybe with some 210 grain hollow points.

Thanks for the link. I checked out all of them. Some fine looking specimens. I agree with your thoughts about the theater mades.
Here are some photo's I think you will like. Notice the extensive grinding on the top and bottom of blade at the guard. The false edge is nice as is the saber grind. the spine is not as beefy as I thought it would be at the thickest portion it is about 3/16"

The shape of the guard does not make any sense at all.

It looks like a knife made in Pakistan or India ::shrug::

shape of the guard makes since if..and this is a big IF, someone else has rehandled the knife...and put the guard on upside down...it also looks bent even if my theory is correct...
the handle and the metal work don't appear to be done by the same person...
the attention to detail on the blade...does not corrospond to the hack job on the wood.
could be china- india- burma theater?

hey? great idea..shine a light inside that scabbard...see if there are markings in there? maybe part of a betty bomber?
mike the thickness of that scabbard... .40?

just trying to be positive...

No Markings, it is aircraft skin. Closer to 40 thousanths than .40. The sheath was made for the knife guard. Check the angle on sheath and that is the only way the knife will fit. Look at start of thread at first photo.

Thanks: It is interesting, I have seen the blade before--- somewhere. It was actually labeled as an unmarked , Maybe memory will recall someday.

I don't think it is a Krag "bowie" bayonet.

Blade grind isn't right although it does resemble the shape.

As for that guard? Maybe it was intended to snag another blade in a knife fight. ( the ones that never happen according to an ex member here ;) )
