I bid on this at an auction last week , thinking it was a awfully nice looking Kinfolks fighting knife
9.5 overall length fixed blade with 5" fullered clip blade, with plastic guard and metal pommel. Kinfolks script is still faintly readable on the tang after the cleaned it up
The term "Fighting Utility knife" comes up when I look for similar, as a WW2 era knife sold initially when the War Department was filling inital acquisition with readily available designs. Seems to check all the boxes except for 5inch blade.
Any thoughts/concerns out there?
Is this a Kinfolks Fighting Utility knife?

Can’t answer your question, but it sure is purdy.

Agree, it definitely caught my eye when I was trolling through the auction sites.
Unfortunately, I've not found a lot of readily available info out there on Kinfolks

Managed to find some references in our "Other US Made knifes" forum that match up pretty closely...Starting to look a lot like a Model 925.
Still trying to confirm timeframe
