Okay, frame style says 40-64, looks like red bone, not bad shape... but I wasn't sure of the lanyard hole. Looks factory, but I don't think many were produced that way in that time frame. Any thoughts are appreciated. Guess I'll know more when it arrives.

I believe that Case drilled the lanyard hole on the 1964 year folding hunter XX framed knives only. I read somewhere that there wasn't many made like that. Steve can give you a more definite answer than I ever could. It sure is a pretty one. You really got a good buy.

The change to the drilled bolster started in the later XX era. So the knife is correct.

Thanks guys! I've gained enough knowledge of Case knives (and knives in general) from the great group of people on this website to almost consider myself dangerous now. This is THE place to be to accomplish that. Friendliest and most knowledgeable group on the web! I read and occasionally post on another knife forum, but the arguing and "My vorpal sword would cleave your lightsaber in twain" kind of speech is not what my brain cells need! Gotta love this neighborhood!
