REMINGTON R1 WHEN MADE?
I INCLUDED A PIC OF A REMINGTON R1 IN NEW CONDITION BUT HAS A DIFFERENT SHIELD WITH A PICTURE OF A PHEASANT ON IT INSTEAD OF IT SAYING REMINGTON. ANY IDEA HOW OLD IT IS? MADE IN USA CIRCLE UMC 12 GA. 20 GA. CHOKE TOOL. BIRD ENTRAIL. DID CAMILLUS MAKE THESE ?

I'm not sure when it was made but it isn't an antique (1920-1940). It is a modern repro.

I'm pretty sure it's circa 1987 - 1992. It wasn't part of the Bullet series "Year Knives" - just open stock. Made by Camillus, of course. They didn't sell very well around here.

OK I found it. This is a Remington ad in a March "88 NKCA magazine. It shows 4 "new" patterns. Yours is called Upland. There is one that looks a lot like yours with an extra serrated blade on the choke end and has slanted bolsters, also has a drift pin punch instead of the guthook as yours does.......they call this one Waterfowl. One jumbo trapper type knife called a Big Game. It has a large clip blade w/2nd blade being a bone saw with field dressing hook. Features a double lockback design. And one Utility for this "new series"............
As for who made them.....it would surprise if Camillus didn't make them. Ringmaster would know better than me but I would have to agree with him.
