Schrade, kon-kav

Post by Gregd »

Could some tell me when Schrade started and stopped putting "kon-kav" on the blades? I believe I am only interested in the 805 series.

Camillus 72 1946-1950 Bone - Welcome To AAPK-crop.JPG
I don't know if it's relevant to the 805 series or not (I'm not a Schrade guy) but I have an 863 Kon-Kav that I have noted as 1953-1962.

The 805 Kon-Kav started in the catalog in 1953 and went to 1975, by Dale's research. It shows the etch in the 1953 catalog. I have an 880 Schrade Walden in Delrin which makes it post-1960 but pre-1974, and it still features the etch. So.... maybe (maybe not) the whole time span from 1953 to 1975? I know that the 880 was offered in smaller numbers after the 1973 trademark/tang stamp changes; they are not commonly seen.
