Please tell me how this happend?
I have a 1996 5254 Case with CV blades! According of Collecting Case Knives 2nd edition book, these knives were not made with stag handles and CVS blades Until 1997 and we're not made since the 70s before then! Is this just something where they had a few old 96 blades left over and they used them in 1997 or is this a rare thing?
Older knives are like women, they are beautiful, pricey, and rarely do you find the good ones!

I've got 2 stag 5375's, both with same tang stamp, but box has different year dates....Likely they used an older blade, my understanding is Case didn't waste anything.

Yeah I kinda figured that it was just to use up all the main blades with the folling year that was left over! But you know we all want our knife finds to be some type of great rare find lol! I never buy a newer case but when I saw this trapper with stag and CV for $45 I couldn't pass it up that's a quick flip for all the stag/cv lovers!

Haha I listed it on evlbay, and I found out that Case didn't start putting CV on the spey blades until 97 so it was a pretty scarce find!Tsar Bomba wrote:Let me know if you want to make a quick $5 profit!
