Lanyard Hole in Case XX 6265 SAB

I have a Case XX 6265 SAB with the Lanyard Hole in the handle.
I understand ,correct me if I'm misinformed, that the lanyard hole was only in 1964 production models.
Can anyone here confirm that ?
I purchased the knife in 1965 when I was in the Navy. It subsequently went around the world with me in 1966 !

You are correct. In the XX era, the hole only appeared in the last year.

That one is not a XX, it is a USA (65 to 69). The lanyard hole was standard on the 65 pattern starting at that point and continuing into the 1980's.

Your knife was probably made in 1965 as it appears to have the "XX" frame . The Case XX series (1940 - 1964) will have CASE over XX on the tang (no U.S.A.) and knives made 1965 - 1969 will be stamped CASE XX over U.S.A. .
