What the heck was the reason for that one. Seems Case completely forgot the KISS principle.

Re: case #6001 trifold
the main reason being, when open and in use it COULD NOT close up on you and cut you, a very safe to use deisgn, much like the neft saftey knife. and as far as KISS whats more simple than a knife with no backspring to weaken or break or bolsters?

Does this one have green bone handles? They are very expensive,if handles are in good shape.

I've never seen those before. I love those with the bone scales.

the handles are green bone , this is in mint condition , hard to get conformation if this knife did or did not get into production , someone told me the handles are worth about 300. an inch ?

Sargent's 7th edition gives a value of $1,500 for a 6001 Tested XX with green bone handles.

thanks for the info..
thinking about selling this knife so trying to figure out value and from what i can find this is a very rare knife by the amount of people that have ever seen one of these, i think the book value given is a good price and may even be a little more today.
thanks for all your help ,

Both those knives (the old ones) are quite nice.
I see this pattern rather frequently, but by KaBar, not Case.
I'd be interested in knowing how the pattern went from Case, with examples being quite rare, to KaBar, with examples just about everywhere, seemingly.

Marbles made fish knives like that with nickel silver handles, they still make a Chinese version. Never seen a Case before, thanks for posting it! That bone is very nice.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
