Ive recently started collecting some switchblades but I have little knowledge of them at this time. I intend on doing extensive research but until that time I will have to rely on sites such as this and friends to fill me in on any questions I might have. I recently purchased this Coricama switchblade with buffalo horn handles. The tang is stamped "CORICAMA MADE IN ITALY". It measures 12 inches in the open position (I think in the open position is how collectors measure these??). This baby will almost jump out of your hand when you fire it! I have done some basic research on the internet but cannot figure out how you determine if this is an older Coricama or a newer one. Ive read that the older ones have much more value than the newer. This knife is a thing of beauty visually and mechanically. Can anyone tell me their opinion on the approx date range this knife was manufactured and how do you tell an old Coricama from a new Coricama?
