Case ID

Post by ncgsy »

Good day all, I'm hoping I can get some help from all of you experts out there. I have a Case doctors knife with I-285 (which I assume is imatation ivory) along with Solingen, Germany on one side of the primary blade and W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co., Bradford PA. I've seen the oval shield on some Case Classics but I'm not sure this is a Classic. In fact I'm not even sure of the MFG date. Can anyone help? Please.
Thanks!

ncgys, it is not a Case Classic; it was made for Jim Parker in Germany in the 1980's or 90's. I had this same knife; in pearl and goldstone. All of the Classics; have the date stamped on the blade tangs.

I believe they were made in '89, but im not positive.Ive heard these called the forerunners of the case classics, but arn't actually part of the series.
