SNAKEHEAD Knives DOG TOWN skateboard knives

Post by junebug »

HEY FELLAS,check these out!
i was surfin' the internet for knives.....and came across these. ::hmm::

the black one interested me and my son and nephew......so i sent SNAKEHEAD.COM a email, and got a reply
answering some of my questions.....that just got me thinkin more and i asked a few more questions....LONG STORY SHORT ended up on the phone with RON MYERS the guy who actually had these
made!!!!!! ::groove:: ::groove:: thought that was kinda cool 8) ....
we got to BS'ing and Ron is a GREAT GUY,VERY FRIENDLY and had all my answers. ::tu::
found out Ron is a carver...who enjoys knives and has worked with them alot and with some BIG names in the knife making field.
as we talked Ron offered to send me a knife to review and SEE FOR MA SELF how the knife was made.
well the box arrived just over a week ago.....and in the box was not one...BUT THREE!!!
THE WHOLE SET.....basically except color of thumb stud variations ::nod:: ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds::

knife info
blade = 440c nice clip point
RC = 58-59 hardness
made in china by SYMBOL (same company that makes S&W smith and wesson knives- per Ron)
they are a LICENSED "DOG TOWN" board design--these were inspired by the movie LORDS OF DOG TOWN(GREAT movie by the way!!!)
tang stamp= etch (front)=SNAKEHEAD(near thumb stud)- RON MYERS over BALTIMORE (tang)
on rear= P.R.C ( i have been told this stands for "peoples republic of china")
scales -aluminum front with graphic and g-10 rear with DOG TOWN cut out
about 3 3/4" closed and 6 3/4" open
liner lock
lanyard hole
thumb stud= aluminum LOOKS JUST LIKE a skateboard wheel....COOL touch 8)
the stud is etched " FIRST WAVE" around edge
come in a lidded box with felt lined foam pad insert......VERY NICE!

i carried this knife for just over a week so far.....
i have used it to cut anything i needed cut without fail......
i have touched the blade up once....not that it really even needed it....just part of my routine of
ten strops on my CASEXX ceramic sticks.........
handy knife tough........nice fit and finish!!! nice graphics and even better rear scale!!!
i really like the inlaid DOG TOWN in old english TYPE script!!!! ::groove:: ::groove:: 8)
this is a pocket knife....so NO pocket clip!!!! in my opinion POSSIBLY the only down fall besides
maybe country of origin?????? but then again that dont bother alot of user/collectors if the PRODUCT
IS GOOD..............THIS SEEMS TO BE ONE ::nod::

::pace:: ::pace:: ::pace:: ::pace::
WAS WONDERING????????
WOULD ANYONE LIKE TO TRY ONE OUT????? MAYBE A "KNIFE PASS" ???????????
LEMME KNOW HERE OR BY PM..........

here are some pics....they may not all fit in this post.....so stand by...lolol ::handshake::

any questions please ask i will try to answer or try to get it answered by RON MYERS...... ::handshake::

Josh -- My grandsons are both skate boarders who I have started on the long slippery slope of knife addiction (better that than drugs). I just knocked two items off my Christmas list at Amazon. Thanks for the inspiration.

Sorry. I didn't think of pictures but both boys thought their knife was way cool.

I really cannot believe that you actually make that journey with skateboards knives. It’s seriously impossible and I would love to appreciate you on this because I also love to play it but usually HyperOutdoor. Your budget according to the trip you’ve taken is much and affordable. That’s why I said HyperOutdoor longboards are pretty good stuff and some people like you are crazy on them.

#HyperOutdoor always introduced best quality.
