Re: High Dollar WWII Case Knife
I've seen some reproductions of the same knife. I would think one that was actually used by the Devil's Brigade would hold more value ... would to me anyway.
Blue Grass Cutlery had a reproduction done ( I assume by Queens ? ) either in 94 or 98, can't remember. Wish I could remember about the thumb imprint. ... The print was designed into the original so soldiers would automatically hold the knife a certain way ... allowing for maximum thrust.

Re: High Dollar WWII Case Knife
I was at the Case factory auction at Knoxville in 1982.
There were 4 of these that sold that day.
Two with sheaths, two without.
Price-$1350 to $1550.
A huge amount in 1982.
Wish I would have bought one then!

Here is another Repo that someone didn't take care of! Would have been wise to keep the sheath.

To me this is a sign that our Economy is getting better, Selling prices are way up from the last two years! And people are willing to sell higher quality knives! I saw a basic stockman go for $ 295 today Case XX 6347 I believe.
