Before and after for this Case Utility 6445 R

Post by Meridian_Mike »

I got a chance to get out in my shop Saturday. I was itching to see what was under all the grime on my recent find.
Here is the before:

Here is what she looks like now.... much improved.
I sanded the main blade until my fingers were sore and still didn't get all the scratches out.
Now I can concentrate on finding that missing bale.

Thanks for looking!

Good job. Looks much better without all the crust.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

It was hard to even open in the "before" condition. Now it actually "walks and talks"...

Nicely done! I would not have given it a second look in the as found condition. But wow! Nice work!

Real nice Save. It's very satisfying to drag a lovely old knife like that back from the 'brink' of being tossed on the scrap heap.

And extra satisfying to feel it in your pocket when you carry it. Top Job ::tu::

I can't stand to see the kids nowadays look at a knife like that and figure it is done! We live in such a "throw-away" society.
I love to clean up these old knives and make them into something that will go on into the future a little longer.
