Wanted: Removable Bail - New York Knife Co.
Wanted: Removable Bail - New York Knife Co.
Thanks for reading my advertisement for two (2) New York Knife Company Hammer Brand removable bails for a BSA model BS3. I have one that is distorted that probably can be straightened out but finding two in better shape would be my preference. Can anybody out there help me? Thanks in advance, Tom

There are some el - cheapo scout knives that have a very similar removable bail.I have bought a couple in the past to use as a replacement. There seems to be as many NYK scouts missing their bails as there are with them.

That's a good suggestion Roger and I may head in that direction if I can't locate one. I may also look into buying the correct gauge wire and making them myself. Tom

Just send em to me, Tom. I'm in the bail-making business right now, LOL

Thanks Glenn - do you want the knives or the distorted bail that I have as a template? Out of curiosity, what do you use for wire and how do you bend it into shape?

Send me everything, please, if you don't mind.
I use NS, but I also have stainless in several sizes. I use various techniques to bend/shape the metal, depending on the shape needed. Most of the time, I just make a jig for it, depending on the type of bend or shape needed. Sometimes a little heat works also.
