The words vintage and antique are vague. Actually most words are vague. Even the word vague is vague.

Thanks Dale. I've ordered jigged bone from them before and have been pretty happy.

The one thing they don't tell you is the length of the stag piece. It looks like they give you the width and thickness though.

I guess I'll have to give them a call.

All I have seen have the length.

I usually get my stag at the OKCA show because I like to pick it out and see what I am getting.
At this years show I didn't see a single set of stag handles for sale!
No one had stag there.

Later I heard India had changed their export regulations on stag and that is why it is in such short supply.

Of course the price is always dependent on the size and quality of the stag, anywhere you get it.
Culpepper may not have the cheapest stag, but they have more for sale than anywhere else I have looked.
If anyone has a source for good stag at really good prices, PLEASE share it with us!

I just got an order from Culpepper and I was very pleased with the quality for the price of the stag I received from them! ::nod::

I picked some up at a yard sale last weekend from a local hunter, I thought I paid too much at $25 for 3 racks ::shrug::

I am going to cut it up for a batch of knives I plan on making ::nod::

If those are 4 point racks (10 point on the East Coast) then you got a real deal!
It can go more than that here for one set of 4 point mule deer antlers here in Oregon!

Not sure, but that is John Lloyd, the custom knife maker. He IS a great guy, from what I have seen/read.

(oh yeah, he makes a pretty good knife as well) ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::
