:D After much thought and consideration I have decided to use the club knife as my carry knife.. I think that is the best way to utilize it to its full potential ::tu::

Got mine, nice except for the marks on the shield. It's much nicer than the first one.
Thanks

Thats GR8 news Bryan. Nice of you to let a person have such a meaningful knife.

O by the way now that the last bunch is in. How many spares do you have left over?

The reason I ask is I just sent one of my spares to Revis.

I am also (as philco) wiating for that 2010 knife... ::drool:: ::tu::

From what we all have learned perhaps we all should not put a big emphasis on the low cost for a club knife this time. I am sure that Bryan and Eric worked very hard on getting the most knife for the least cost. I belive I was one that said that many times in the past about Canal Street. My heart was crushed over all the errors that came up. Perhaps go for more Quality? May be like with GEC ?

Well I would like to start off by saying any problems with these knives IMO has nothing to do with Eric or anyone else that put this all together. Thank you! You guys did GREAT !!!!

But got my knife today and the gap between the springs is just to much to bear, I will be sending my knife to Canal Street Cutlery for repair. Maybe with the best customer service they can muster will I ever buy one of their knives again. I know they can do better work but they didnt. Maybe because the knives were sold and money was in hand they felt they could get away with producing so many defects in their knives. So sad soo soos sad, what were they thinking, this was their oportunity to get it right, and make their good name even better. Instead they have hurt their rep, I will post later on the customer service and if the problem was resolved, I feel this has given me an opportunity, to hold their QA responsible. ::disgust::

::ds:: OK I just got her back from the repair dept. I rate the repair a 7 out of 10 not quite as good as CASE does. Man you think if you messed something up you would try EXTRA hard to fix it up even better than new. Maybe their business is not doing well?? their are allot of factories closing, their over head I'm sure is a factor. Over all I'm happy with the knife but I still would not but a CS knife again, how something that bad could slip threw all the making steps just BLOWS my mind. ::dang::

I don't know, it seems like there is an inordinate amount of criticism being levelled at this knife by just a few individuals. Aside from the shield issue, which seems to have been just a matter of not enough glue being used on the shield backs in the first batch of knives, there didn't seem to be a whole lot of folks with knife problems considering that there were 200 knives produced. You're always going to have a certain percentage of defects no matter who the company is. I've seen it with GEC, Queen, and Northwoods to name a few.
As I've said, there are a lot of firsts with this knife; new in house designed pattern with new blades to boot, first time using stainless liners in the stockman pattern, a shield they've never used before to name a few. At least they were willing to work with us on getting those shields included without us having to pony up a grand to have a die made. Maybe it would have been more prudent to choose a pattern that had been tried and true, but I figured having a knife that's instantly recognizable as the AAPK knife was more important than having someone make one of their usual patterns with one of their usual handle materials and just slapping an etch on the knife.
It IS a real plus knowing that we can actually have 200 knives sold for this club, it's an amount I never expected, and would possibly open doors to some patterns that might not have been accessible with only fifty or so knives.
Now this is not to say that those folks who did have problems are not being considered. I know I had three knives come back to me with some issues such as chips out of the handle or scratches on the handle, blade catching, no etch on one. Lenny, I know you had some big 'ol gaps, are they still an issue? I think most of these issues have been resolved, although logman still has some marks on his shield (PM inbound).
I do hope everyone as a whole is happy with their knives.

Eric

Hi Eric,
Sorry to hear there are so many complaints.
I have to say, considering all the knives that were made in such a short amount of time, I think they did a fabulous job.
Of course my knife is perfect so I don't have any complaints.
I hope they all get their issues resolved and come back for more.
I know if and when there is another Club knife I will be right there to order mine.
Thank you for all your hard work ::nod:: ::tu::

Squeakyval, glad you're happy with it! I was actually saying that all in all there haven't been many complaints other than a few that seem to have slipped by. It was definitely a lot of fun ::tu::
