Well, I don't have any Waterville or Walden sticks :( but I do have a number of Vintage Oregon sticks. :)
Sticks related to such world famous cutlery companies as Murphy (Murphy combat knives & the original maker of Gerber Knives), and of course Gerber sticks, Al Mar sticks, Benchmade sticks, and Columbia River Knife & Tool sticks. ::tu:: ::tu::

I even have a stick verified to be sharpened by Orvet, the barely known & occasionally heralded sometimes knife maker & customizer of knives.
(I think I can even get him to sign one). ::groove::

Unfortunately, I do not have a way to scan them, as they won’t fit my scanner. ::cr::
However, I just ordered a photo booth today & if the interest remains high in the sticks, I can make, …er, ……. I mean photograph  some sticks for this thread when my new booth arrives.

Fran,
Please post pics of all the sharp sticks (you may exclude the dull ones) in your collection.
Perhaps we can get Bryan to set aside a special thread for Stick Swapping! ::ds::

Four months later a Waterville beaches itself in the Pacific Northwest!!
This knife was preceded by a Tsunami!!
I have compared it to a Case 6347 premium Stockman, so you can get an idea of size. It also weighs twice as much as the Case! I've never seen that shield before either; have you??
Here's big Mamoo!! When either blade snaps, all the crows leap from their roost!!

I can't translate, but I will say that both the knives shown above are great. :P

Both have such interesting designs and such a richness about them. ::tu::

That big old Jack has a backspring like a bear trap. You'd have to put rocks in your other pocket for ballast if you carried that thing.

I had a xchance at one exactly like that a few weeks back, but it had greenish horn handles. Blade was worn but still snapped like a trap, I nearly fell over when he proudly stated his $600 price tag

I have a couple of those knives which I believe are either used for splicing new growth onto a tree(slice bark open w/blade;use other end to open bark to insert splice)or as a combination folding bone(for making envelopes before they were commercially available)and sharpening pen quills. Both of mine are English.

I am pretty new and don't always understand why things sell for what they do.
However, one look at that knife and even the novice can see that its a stunner.
Congrats on getting it, WAY TOO COOL!!

So I am at this dog show in Delaware, OH yesterday. It was at the fairgrounds. They had a small flea market near the show so I convinced my wife that I needed to go. Good thing I did. It had more knives that most of the places I visit. I wandered through the cold and fog and found a table with a couple of old knives. I asked to see this one. The owners says, "now that's a nice bone handled knife!" I keep my mouth shut. It then says "that's a button hook for shoes you know" I keep my mouth shut. I look it over, no cracks, still some snap but not perfect, blade ground some. Hook was perfect. OK I says, how much. ummmmmm!!!!!!!! I gotta have ten bucks for it.

I just didn't have the heart. I says sir, this is a nice example of a late 19th century ladies knife. It isn't bone, its Ivory and that's not a button hook, its a glove hook. OH my you seem to know a little about knives I take it? Nope just enough to be dangerous. I will give you $20 for it. Of course he was thrilled. I felt good about it and so did he. First time I every gave a person more than they asked.

I bet plenty of you would have paid way more than that for it too.

It was a good day.

Water-Ville late 1800's to 1913,

Upon closer look, I found a jeweler had encraved in long hand the owners name

EMMA

How cool is that? ::nod::
