I just purchased 9 Landers, Frary and Clark catalogs which contain not only folding knives but all of the durable goods that LF&C made. I hope over time to scan the folding knife pages and make them available here for posterity. The catalogs include:

(1) Green Cover, 1914, Catalog #48
(2) Green Cover, 1919, Catalog #61, January 1, 1919
(3) Blue Cover, 1922, Catalog #261
(4) Tan Cover, 1922, Catalog #262, August 9, 1922
(5) Brown Cover, 1926, Catalog #12
(6) Red Cover, 1926, Sectional #1
(7) Ivory Cover, 1928, Cutlery Catalog #1, July 15, 1928
(8) Ivory Cover, 1928, Supplement #1
(9) Olive Cover, 1931, Catalog #31

There appears to be no missing pages or water damage and some have the typewritten cover letters to the jobber, I'm very pleased with this find.

Wonderful Pages Monte,
Belknap sure offered beautiful knives. It is amazing to consider the beginning of the great depression had just kicked in when this catalog came out. When the Civilian Conservation Core was started in 1933 I think it was $1 a day, and would have been considered a good job (albeit a tough one) as you got food and housing as well. I think that puts some of the prices into perspective, of course they are wholesale in the catalog. It is interesting, the prices for a high quality knife then are roughly comparable to the prices for a high quality knife now.

Here is a rare one from 1914. It is a Press button Guardian. This was the first year it was issued for sale, $19 per dozen then, $2,000 a piece now if you can find one.

Thanks again Beechtree, after looking at these I wonder why there aren't more Primble knives available. Well at least there aren't many in my area.

Thanks Monte,
Belknap's primary area in the country was the central and southern portions, being based out of Louisville, KY.
I too like the wharncliffe and the congress, I also like the anglo saxon pattern.

Beechtree, it looks like you.have more than a few of the old hardware catalogs. I have been looking for some of them for about a year and a half. I have only seen the one I retrieved the pics from and it's not mine. I have looked on the iternet and ebay had a few.but they were to expensive. Also, I have been to all the antique stores in my area but haven't seen any. I talk to the man that let me use his and I asked him where I might find some and he told me at tool shows. Do you know where else one might find such catalogs?

Thanks Big Homer!

Monte, Tool shows are a good place to look. The internet is another option. The real difficulty is in the price. I also have an antique store friend who gets in this kind of thing as he likes books. You might try asking around any antiquarian type book stores.
