Wow, I've never seen anything like the shoe and the dozing dog before, really unique! I can see the shoe design was intended to advertise shoes, but what was the dog for I wonder? dog food perhaps, or pet store...or maybe just for the novelty of it...pretty cool though.

Hey Gino,
I think the collar is made from nickle silver but I'm not positive.

Greedy, you just keep posting great stuff. You really should write that H. Boker Improved Cutlery book.

Star Brand Shoes distributed those shoe knives for quite a while and they were made by several different cutleries. One could accumulate a pretty good collection of them. They show up with great frequency on Ebay in various condition, including near mint.

Search Ebay for Star Brand Shoes and you'll most likely find one. If not, wait a couple of days and try again.

Here's another ivory lady's leg knife and a goldstone cap lifter that I recently ran across. Both are H. Boker & Co's Improved Cutlery.

I LIKE that little umbrella! Never seen one like that before.

If that bird is the logo for Old Crow Whiskey, the knife would bring good money on the 'Bay. There are Old Crow collectors there.

There are some really cool items in this post. ::tu::

Here are some figural and related items I have that I think will fit here. I have posted the baseball bat knives before but thought they might be at home here as well.

First picture:
top is an Wadsworth Germany fish knife
middle is a Syracuse Knife Co. key with advertising
bottom is Broch & Koch Celebrated Princess Leg knife c. 1875-1900

Third picture:
top is Standard Knife Co. leg knife
middle is a carved pearl fruit knife in the form of a knife
Bottom is a Remington UMC R7985 champagne bottle

Forth picture:
top is a Cattaraugus pencil with cutting and file blades
bottom is a M.C. Co. Germany player piano figural with advertising for F. A. Leatherman Nashville Tenn.

Sixth picture is a group of baseball bat figurals.

The one I posted is also stamped."Stainless Taiwan" and to me is priceless as it was a gift from my youngest son when he was 16 years old. He is now a grandfather of three at 42. ::ds::
