Thats a Great one Harold!
Lovely looking knife Jtx. It would be nice to find the guard, but it sure has enough character without it.
Nice one Roger, the etch it nice. Is that one 3 5/8”?
Good find Dimitri! I really like equal ends. They tend to be hefty and have nice proportions.

Old Folding Hunter. The guard was made for this knife by a friend, it was missing when I found this old knife. I
think this is the same knife as jtx posted.

Beautiful knife, Roger. The square tool, is it a gauge for setting the points??

You all have posted some very nice Challenge knives, I really think they are some of the highest quality vintage knives out there.

Picked up this bare head jack with sheepsfoot main blade this week, I don't think vintage sheepsfoot jacks are all that common, at least I don't come across very many. Knife is in very good shape for its age.

Thank you Lee and thanks for the pattern name, always wondered if there was a specific name for this knife, I have an early Cattaraugus just like this one.

First two photos - a used old Cigar pattern, next is a lock back English Jack ( missing the folding guard like several others shown) and last, a couple of Scouts with a little etch left on the masters.

Here's a nice, stout jack knife with half stops on both blades.
Solid all the way around ...... but it is a Challenge. 3 3/8".
