One recent score at the NCCA show... have a few other knives coming up for posting from the show... a good time as usual and a few scores... great to see a few other members from here - Steve P (knifeaholic), Glen (Glenbadd) and Joe (FRJ)...

Challenge Swell-End Jumbo Jack - 3 & 7/8" - Looks like Rosewood on mark side and darker Rosewood (maybe Ebony) on pile side... not sure but no doubt darker wood on back... Blades seen some sharpening... more so on pen but in the end I thought the long pull and swedge on pen blade was pretty cool... hard snapping and no wobble... just a solid honestly used and carried knife, and not abused from a sharpening aspect... (PS - trying outdoor light again and playing with backgrounds)...

Thanks for looking...

Thanks Joe and Dan ::tu:: .... funny I debated on this one only because of the pen blade which is probably down maybe 20% (?) though the long pull (don't see many pens from this company or others with a long pull) and nice swedge intrigued me (and I don't consider this blade abused in terms of sharpening - just well used but in a respectable way ;-)... in the end when I heard the deal price for this one along with a few others of interest that I no doubt was buying it became a very easy decision....

Sk those are very unique. You have got quite a stable. I would be curious to know how many scout knives you have and how many brands are represented in your pile. That is if you know right off hand. Don't go to any trouble counting over my curiousity..

The number would be in the hundreds  . I pretty much have at least 1 of each official scout knife made before 1946ish , missing just a couple rare ones  .
I do have a few unofficial scouts like the two challenge I posted .

Great old swell end LB, love that shape.

ScoutKnives, those are some fine old scouts you have. Wouldn’t we all like a pair!

Here is an old Challenge Jumbo jack with early style jigging and long pulls. Measures 4.25” Closed.

Thanks Dan and Joe, I think the jigging is more similar to what Hatch used.
