J.T Mount & Co Newark N.J. 1885-1911
Here is an interesting old knife I picked up recently.
It was made by J.T. Mount & Co. Newark, N.J. circa 1885-1911.
A well constructed old knife with long nail pull on the master, half stops, and unusual jigged bone handles.
Here is what Goins Encyclopedia has to say about this company:
"J.T. Mount & Co. Newark N.J. c. 1885-1911. James T. Mount was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1845. He moved to east Orange, New Jersey in 1881, and about 1885 opened a cutlery manufacturing company in Newark, located in the Nassau Works. This works had previously been occupied by Charles Booth, and later Furness & Banister. He operated the plant for several years, closing it in 1905. Mr. mount died in 1921".
Anybody have any knives by this maker? If so post them here

Fantastic knife by a rare company! The bone reminds me of some old Holleys I've seen.

LOL, my 40 buck sharpening stones don't cost me anything but time. That's how much the state pays for the bulbs that I get the filaments out of. Be a HECK of deal for me and you'd never be out of something to sharpen a blade with.
That is a gorgeous knife.
