She's 3 1/2 inches closed.....most of my Scouts are 3 3/4 closed. :|
Isn't the Featherweights and Brownies 3 1/2 ? ::shrug::

It is kinda weird that the shield says "Scout Knife"...maybe it was reworked..and the bail wouldn't fit correctly. :shock:

Yes, they are 3 1/2" ::nod::

If it was originally a 4-blade knife and a blade or two was broken, it could have been taken apart and made into a 2-blade knife. I don`t have many German made scout knives so I can`t say for sure what is going on with this knife. If I had it in hand I could tell better if it has been worked on ::nod:: ::skeptic::

Were all the two blade Girl Scouts aluminum frame or just the feather-weights?

I'm thinking that’s what more than likely has happened...also , I took a better look at it this Morning and its 3 5/8 closed. ::nod::
I like it....I'll put a bale back on it and add it to my Scout collection. ::tu::

Picked these up on a lot deal. (seller pic)
Scout-Camp Knives 1a.jpg
Most are pretty much standard issue, but the Imperial BSA, other then a bit of tarnish, looks to be unused and the etch is still visible.
I do have a few questions about this one though.
Unknown Scout-Camp.jpg
There aren't any visible tang stamps or etch's, but isn't this what would be considered a 2-piece Remington style can opener? Did anyone else use this same style? It seems to be a reasonably well made knife, but the overall style's not what I think of when I think of a Remington Scout knife, and not sure why no I.D. markings.

Thanks, WB

I lean in that direction too, although I'm curious as to why there's no tang stamp.

WB to answer you question about the can opener, Pal used the same tooling that Remington had been using before Pal bought them out, so their can openers looked the same.

Thanks guys. Pal makes perfect sense, I don't know why that one didn't occur to me. I have a few Pal knives, all have tang stamps. (Pal Blade or Pal Cut. Co.) It doesn't seem like there's enough wear to have worn away the stamp and i'm not familiar with Pal ever using etch's as opposed to stamps, so not sure what the deal is. I suppose it could have had the spear blade replaced, but if so, it was done quite awhile back. The pin has the same rough texture as the iron bolsters. Just doesn't look to have been tampered with. ::shrug::
JR, that next one back is a Utica Kutmaster.

Thanks again, WB

I should have guessed that by the can opener. :oops:

Are both the red scaled ones..Richards ?....I know the one on the left is...I own one like it.

Hey WB...are you a Ted Nugent fan?...or maybe a Charles Bronson fan...or both? :)

JR, your spot on with the Richards, the other is an Imperial. It's one of the Electricians 4-blade utility knives. I have a mint one in my collection already, so i'll probably just clean this one up and use it, sell it or give it away.
The WB handle came long before the Ted Nugent song or the Bronson movie.
I am a big fan of Ted Nugent from clear back in the days when he was still playing 1500 seat auditoriums. The last concert of his I went to, there were more then 30,000 people there. I don't think my ol' heart could take the strain of it anymore, but it was alot of fun in my younger days.
Not a huge fan of Charles Bronson, but I did like that movie a little better then most of his.

Sweet scout lot, WB! ::tu::

I took some group pictures of mine. The first picture has two Western fixed blades, one with the original sheath, like miller's, the other has a random sheath. Then there are 2 Kamp Kings, a Camillus bone with USA shield, a 2006 Bulldog Scout, a Case bone 1974 6 Dot 6445 R, a Western S-901 D and a Geo. Schrade Scout's camp set.

The second picture has some random Camillus knives, 2 Camillus Cub Scout knives 2 Ulster Boy Scout knives and Kutmaster Girl Scout and Brownie knives. The bottom Cub Scout knife was my first knife, I've had it since I was 10 years old. I remember ripping my finger nails off trying to open the punch and opener. It's loosened a little over the years.
