Nice knife. ::tu::

Robeson made that pattern with longer bolsters that were about 1/3 of the knife's length.

I've always called it a "Barlow".

This one is stamped "ROBESON", but I'm still looking for a Terrier with the longer bolsters.

Thank you, Charlie.
Very nice little knife. In spite of its diminutive size it is still a Barlow pattern, right.
Would yours be a 236 like my little scruffy?

Thank you, Jtx.
As old and used as mine are they still have responsive blades and springs and are very solid knives.

All the ones I've seen, regardless of bolster length, that have a number, are 722236 patterns.

The Terriers, of course, have the numbers reversed and are 236722 patterns.

There is a long, very slim, pearl handled Robeson pen on Ebay right now with two blades and I've seen the pattern as a whittler in both pearl and bone.

Just picked up this Terrier in a batch of some Robeson's that I will be selling soon. I really like these lockbacks and also English jacks so this one fits in perfectly with the others I have.

Joe that is a great looking large Terrier cattle knife ::tu:: I don't own any so I am always pleased to see photos! I see more small ones than larger ones like yours. Like Monte said that are hard to find, large or small I might add ::nod:: Lloyd

Joe that's one sweet old knife you've landed. I can't find a thing I don't like about it except it's not in my pile. :mrgreen:

Thanks guys. ::tu:: ::tu::

The Terriers were only made for six years from 1910 - 1916. So that keeps the count down right there.
Any one you find will be at least 100 years old.

Lloyd, I was surprised to see a big knife too.

Thank you,Phil. :lol:

Ugh, sorry about that, Charlie and thanks for the compliment.
You crossed my mind as this was in my watch list but I thought it was a little trail weary for your fine collection.
It is a great old knife.

Joe - that is one fine piece of cutlery from a cool old company ::tu:: ::tu:: ... All the Terrior knives I have seen from especially Charlie who has a great collection but you & others in this thread are certainly "eye candy" - I especially like the worm groove bone which I find appealing on any knife... in fact I was with you Joe on your first Terrior knife find about a year ago - that nice MOP jack back a few pages :)

Joe, it is a bit below my likes as to condition, but it's such a great pattern and rare, so I put a limited bid and swore I'd not raise it, but I did one time when I was outbid.

Great honest old knife with some use history.

Nothing to complain about there.
