I LOVE my SOG Northwest Ranger.

This 5.2" AUS-8 clip point marvel is the absolute bomb! I absolutely adore this working piece of steel. The leather sheath is tighter than a "gnat's sphincter" and the blade is "shaving sharp" right from the box. Black as the ace of spades describes the sheath and "stout" is an understatement concerning the blade's construction. ::tu::

I wish that SOG hadn't discontinued this model. It would be a perfect Deck Knife for US Navy personnel. Tough, resilient and durable. I should petition Donald Trump and suggest that he contact SOG about making this a Navy Issue Item for shipboard use. It would be as good, or better than what's being issued today.

That it does! Even though the knife is made in Taiwan, the beast is bloody razor-sharp right out of the box. I paid about $55.00 for the knife, and boy is it worth it! If you can pony up the money for this hunting knife, BUY IT! You won't regret this purchase. SOG did their homework when it came to this unit. ::tu::

I like Sog knives and I have several but, I would be a little put out if the government stated buying foreign made knives for the navy.
I am the NRA.

Fear not Ken. I don't think that's likely under the current administration. :)

Sadly, the Ontario Navy Mark 3 is nowhere near as good as the older knives.
