Name this knife

Post by wackyd »

Any help here?

The only mark I can find looks like it is script for Dan E maybe and then the dagger looking logo.

Any insight?

Thanks!

Daniel

The only name I can come up with is Dan Dennahy (sp?)who was a custom knife maker specializing in fighters.

Try a Google search for Dane knives.

DAN E. BRDLIK

Part time custom knife maker who made at least one production knife run before passing away in the 90's.

Now to see if their is a market.

My experience of closely watching knives on ebay for the last 10 years is that custom made knives in general fetch very little money. There are exceptions for knives made by a few highly regarded makers, but for makers who are basically unknown there is no market.
Sales rely on someone seeing the knife and liking it but they won't bid very high.
If you list it on ebay how about a link please ?

Looking around a bit, the only archived like sale is on one of those pay to see the price sites.

My fixed knife interest is in military issue or military carried knives.

While this one is obviously a fighter, I have gotten no feel on its use by anyone enlisted.

That said, I was fully blown away by these two finished sales as well as this one on its way out:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/282337212077

But I guess AES Eickhorn could be on the radar for that likely vintage?

wackyd, what is the connection between an older Cold Steel knife, an Eickhorn Fighter knife and your OP knife other than all 3 are 'Fighters' ?

Mostly that I was shocked at the sale price.

I don't believe any of them to be particularly scare, though I guess I could not source on tomorrow if you asked.

Makes not knowing the backstory of this one all the more frustrating.
