Here's a piece from an older thread entitled "Scandinavian Fixed Blade Knives" from 2010 in this topic: I think that this is where I got the idea that "PUUKKO" was a Finnish term applied to a Nordic knife:

Hey guys, If you want some great info on making Puukkos and some tutorials and parts and supplies, google up Brisa Knife supplies. They are in Finland and have a great selection.

Here is a puukko I just finished...well it's 98% finished.... still need to peen the tang over. The first knife I've ever made.

Lauri puukko blade.

Guayacan & Ziricote handle with brass guard.

Sheath: Leather, wood, and deer antler.

No power tools other than a hand drill. Mostly used my Swiss Army Woodsman knife.
